Chillin' Estilo Colorado

(Thomas)

Colorado has been rewarding, but has deflated (pun intended) a large bragging right i held over other cyclists and the curious individuals that prodded for answers about our trip; Daniel and I had traveled over 2200 miles before getting our first flat. But, not only did we manage one, we received 4--at the same time. The culprit?... goat heads (sand burs). A single ride managed to flatten all four of our wheels, and level our highly inflated egos in the process!

An overview of some highlights throughout Colorado - including Colorado Springs, Denver, Winter Park, and Steamboat Springs.

Don't you love my tan lines??

Climbing in the Garden of the Gods (Colorado Springs)

Practicing our shooting for the moose in Wyoming.

Our new friend Kohl, our old friend Kalyn.

Taking a ride through the Rockies in Kalyn's mothers convertible. Needless to say, it was fantastic.

Kalyn's neighbors project. Raised garden beds.

Kevin showing us the designs and the "how to" of his garden beds.

Because Colorado Springs has such a dry climate wicking water beds are becoming a necessity for great produce. The water in these plant beds starts from the bottom and works its way up.

Just fill the tube up and it will trickle out slowly from the bottom. Saves water and allows the plant to drink slowly.

Spending the week leading up to the 4th of July in Denver with the old friend Cory Snethen

Hello disk golf.

 Rocky mountain switchbacks

Leaving Denver working towards Steamboat Springs

Our highest pass yet - 11,500 ft

(10 miles out of Winter Park)

A cool bumper sticker we liked.

The ride into Steamboat - filled with mountains, lakes, and rivers.

What do you think about northern Colorado?

Daniel took a tour of the capitol building earlier today. Who knew it would end with dinner and a lovely discussion lasting 5 hours with the senator and her daughter? ;)

Before leaving Denver we promised Senator Linda Newell we would advertise for her. You like?

Ohh Rachel! Daniel, Rachel and I spent an afternoon floating down one of the many rivers going through Steamboat Springs.
